Launching your Co-working Space? We list all the equipment you need

One works for almost 8 hours in an office. How is even possible to work somewhere that doesn’t have an aura that supports a happening existence? Isn’t it but obvious that one would find it easier to work at a place that’s well equipped, somewhat homely!

Office should be a place that involves a warm co-working environment, supported by good Wi-Fi connection and anything and everything that would support a smart tech-savvy co-space. All you have to do is to keep in mind two things before designing a space like this, firstly what is your visual brand and what atmosphere would you like to create for your co-workers? Secondly, what equipment and material do you need to achieve this?

Basic equipment for dividing up space:

Modularity

Modularity is integral to the layout of your space. Indeed, co-workers must make the space their own in order for it to evolve according to their needs. The modular layout involving good enough use of the open spaces where you can see your co-workers from quite a close-up and yet get to work in a space where noise is guaranteed to get blocked by the interventions of walls is a boon in itself.

Visual Apart

Don’t we all long for something soothing, something warm and pleasant that’s welcoming and motivating at the end of the day. We put on incense sticks, dim the lights at home when in a relaxation mode. So why would we not want our office to be something similar. Often bright and lively colours help uplift mood when under massive work pressure. Colours, quotes and some interesting patterns help make those eight tiring hours worth while.

Furniture

Secure and mobile storage cabinets must be available. Strike a balance between designer furniture and something from a flea market! Always favour comfort before design, and after making it a priority you are sure to find something classy, that goes with the ambience. The chairs can be rolling or normal armchairs, practicality and comfort both being a priority here. Lastly plants make the place rejuvenating enough to work in!

Noise

A poorly planned space will be a noisy space. Some mandatory spaces might include meeting rooms, telephone cabins and waiting rooms. Apart from this planning indeed plays some role here for a sales or marketing space would be noisier as compared to an art space and would need separate enclosures for the same! Also works that need no disturbance can be done during early office hours or late ones in case the working area is already crowded and noisy.

Basic equipment for different rooms:

Kitchen

Just like your college canteens back in those days, so is your office that calls for a mandatory eating place that not only saves an employee’s time but also provides one with an option for building up relationships and bonds outside the mundane working area. A coffee machine is as mandatory as Wi-Fi in office. Keep in mind that inhibiters like coffee or tea keeps one relaxed throughout those long, boring eight hours. Make sure your kitchen is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, water dispensers, utensils and a proper sitting area as well; providing your office with canteen, or perhaps a chef’s kitchen is additional.

Meeting Room

It’s an indispensable part of an office environment. Meetings are held most often and hence a separate room/cabin is mandatory. The room should be spacious enough to incorporate at least 10-12 people. The room should be fully equipped cause after all it represents you. This includes the traditional white board, video-projector, audio-visual or video conference system, VGA/HDMI and Mac connectors, laptop chargers, conference phone, TV . Don’t forget a water fountain or to provide bottled water. Ensure regular cleaning of the room.

Relaxation Area

It’s pretty impossible to sit and slouch in front of a system for about eight hours. Hence it’s but obvious that one might need a separate area to make phone calls, some informal conversions or perhaps to simply relax.

Hence one needs to keep all the above points to make the office a better place to be in, after all just like one’s own house, it too is a place that involves proper planning just to make it the best, a place worth spending half of your lives in!
